Michael Townsend Williams is an experienced yoga teacher who offers classes in classical Hatha Yoga in Bath, Box, Bradford-on-Avon and London.
He also leads workshops and retreats in all aspects of yoga.
Although his teaching is rooted in traditional yoga, with work on the breath (pranayama), relaxation (savasana), physical excercises (asana) and meditation (dhyana), he infuses his classes with a contemporary understanding of this ancient practice. He works with individuals and groups in open classes, at peoples' homes and in the workplace. Men and women of all ages and levels from complete beginners to the more advanced attend his classes.
All the major systems of the body benefit from regular Hatha Yoga practice - through stretching and breath work the spine strengthens and becomes more flexible, muscles become more supple, digestion and circulation improve, the nerves calm. Yoga has the effect of balancing the hormones and reducing stress levels, leading to a general feeling of well-being and calm
Yoga releases physical, mental, emotional and energetic blockages from the body allowing your authentic self to shine through.
Through his classes, workshops and retreats he explores a range of yoga disciplines, encouraging students to discover their own journey.
